How to Clean Laminate Floors
Cleaning the laminate floors is essential to maintain its beautiful appearance as well as to make it lasts for long time. To maintain the natural luster of laminate floor after the using of vacuum or micro fiber pads, a vinegar or ammonia-based solution mixed with water can be wipe on the laminate floor. However, this must be done immediately. Combining equal amount of vinegar, rubbing alcohol and water can also be a good cleaner for laminate floor. Other cleaners like Swiffer WetJet wood floor cleaner and Windex can be also used. When stain from oil, paint, permanent marker, tar and rubber heel marks the laminate floor, the owner must used a neutral cleaner on a light colored clean cloth then wipe it directly on the affected area. If the stain is still present despite continuous wiping, an alcohol or nail polish remover with acetone can be used. When the laminate floor is spilled with wine, beer, fruit juice, soda pop, pasta sauce or even blood, it can be easily removed by warm water. Candle wax stain and chewing gum can be loosen on laminate floor by placing an ice on the affected area to harden it then gently scrape them. The residue of the stains can be wiped off with warm water. Visible scratched on laminate floors can be remedied by purchasing a touch-up stick from the manufacturer. This touch-up kit will help the owner to easily repair the damage and the scratches will be no longer visible. In case one of the laminate floors is heavily damaged, it is best to replace them with new plank. Replacing a new plank will not make visible changes if done properly. |
