Karndean is made from an exceptionally durable form of vinyl that has been highly customized. The great thing about Karndean is that it mimics the appearance of a real wood floor but it has none of the time consuming drawbacks or natural wooden floors. Versatile

Warm

Unlike many natural hard floors, both wooden and stone, a Karndean floor is warm underfoot. So when you wake up in the morning you won't feel a chilly foor underfoot. This improves the atmosphere of the room greatly.

If you have ever walked over a floor that has not been laid properly you will often hear a hollow noise - this is caused by the gaps under the floor and can lead to cracks and serious problems in the future. Karndean is quiet underfoot, so even those wearing high heels will not make a loud echoing noise.

Low Maintenance

Traditional hard flooring such as real wood or stone require upkeep. Stone is easily stained and must be cleaned down and sealed every few months. Likewise real wood marks very easily, and will quickly deteriorate if not varnished and polished regularly. On the other hand, Karndean does not require this level of maintenance. Onc it has been laid you can basically forget about it, except for the occasional polish.

Easy To Clean

Karndean is easy to clean, whereas other hard wood and real stone floors are a nightmare to clean. Hard wood scratches with hoovering and stone needs attention while cleaning. Karndean is so easy to clean and maintain, you can use a hoover or even mop it down without worrying.

Water Resistant

Real wood floors can be a real nightmare, especially when it comes to cleaning with water. If you spill water over a real wood floor it will more likely than not begin to warp out of shape as it absorbs the moisture. Karndean is impervious to moisture so regardless of how much water is spilled over it the floor will not be damaged.

Real Looking

One of the best things about Karndean is how realistic it looks and feels. Available in wood, stone and slate effects your visitors won't even know that it's not the real thing - until you tell them!

Anti-Dirt

Stone and real wood floors can be a harbour for dirt and bacteria because of their often porous structure. However, Karndean is not a porous material so any bacteria can be easily and quickly cleaned away. This makes a Karndean floor the perfect floor if you have friends or family with allergies or health concerns.
